Domino’s Pizza Pontyclun grand opening goes off in style

Domino’s Pizza new store opening in Pontyclun went off in style last night after Wales Rugby Captain Ryan Jones dropped in to cut the ribbon and declare the outlet officially open for business.

The exclusive Domino’s Ferrari was also publically unveiled for the first time and provided the centrepiece for the grand opening.

Youngsters from Pontyclun Rugby Club came along to the opening event as the new store has generously decided to sponsor the local team. The aspiring rugby stars attended the opening wearing their brand new Domino’s Pizza hoodies. They also had the chance to chat with international rugby player, Ryan Jones who happily signed autographs and posed for photos with the local team.

As a keen home cook, Ryan was more than happy to try his hand at pizza making in the Domino’s kitchen in Pontyclun. Despite admitting the last time he made a pizza was in a home economics class in school, under the expert guidance of franchisee Tej Randeva the Ospreys player succeeded in making his own Domino’s pizza from scratch, even creating the base himself using fresh dough.

When it comes to pizza toppings, the traditional cheese and tomato just doesn’t cut it with the rugby ace as he describes it as “a waste of a good pizza.” If you want to please this sportsman, then you’ll have to serve up a “meaty and spicy” pizza feast.

One lucky Domino’s Pizza customer had the privilege of having their order hand delivered by the rugby star. After his stint as a pizza delivery man, we asked Ryan he could have anyone to deliver him a pizza, who would it be? The 29-year-old sportsman decided X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole would be his ultimate pizza delivery person, then quickly changed his mind and opted for, interestingly, Mongolian Emperor Ghenghis Khan.

With the countdown well underway for the Autumn Internationals, Wales captain Ryan Jones says the forthcoming season will be a “decider” and give the team a good indication of where they are in terms of preparation for next year’s Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

On a personal level, Jones said he’d love to triumph over the All Blacks as he explained:

“I’ve played against the All Blacks in games where we’ve lost badly, and when we’ve come really close to beating them, so it would be nice to finally get that win over New Zealand and to make a bit of history.”

The grand opening of the new Domino’s Pizza store in Pontyclun was a great success as the outlet was inundated with pizza orders as word got around about the opening event.

To encourage the people of Pontyclun to give Domino’s Pizza a try, the store is offering an exclusive buy one get one free offer for all collections orders, so if you love pizza, you really can’t afford to miss this great offer.
